This also means that we can provide all of our software apps, such as Lesson Planner, for both iPhone and iPad platforms. FileMaker Go performs a sync between iPhone or iPad and your computer meaning lesson plans, for example, can be created on your computer then synced with your iPhone/iPad via iTunes and you've got access to your lesson plans on your mobile device. We're currently working on changes to Lesson Planner's interface to fit with iPhone and iPad display sizes and to allow for device rotation. Once we're done we'll be releasing Lesson Planner, as a starter, for FM Go on iPhone and iPad as part of the usual Lesson Planner software package. Existing users will be able to upgrade to the new release and carry on using their lesson plans as normal with the option of taking it mobile on iPhone and iPad. |

We're currently testing some of our FileMaker solutions with iPhone and iPad. Currently things are looking very promising for porting Lesson Planner and SMS Sender to the iPhone and iPad. We're hoping to announce release dates for the apps shortly. |

We've been working hard the last few months and have been involved in some really exciting FileMaker work with a number of new and existing clients. The new version of FileMaker 9 now includes the ability to connect to and manipulate live data stored in MSSQL and MySQL database tables (as well as others). This opens up new possibilities for using FileMaker to access traditional web based data in shopping carts etc and also to use FileMaker as a much improved front end for an older system that is currently limited by the constrains of your web browser. FileMaker can easily connect to one or more SQL tables and drag in the data as if it were in a FileMaker table, this includes the ability to perform finds, add records, etc using the much more intuitive FileMaker way of doing things. You don't have to worry about writing complex SQL queries to perform tasks :-) We've been busy working on a solution that accesses our company mailing list database, stored on our Linux server in many MySQL tables, and extracts the data from multiple tables and fields to one FileMaker table that has all the relevant information for each user in one record. We accomplished this in under a day with FileMaker 9, Actual ODBC driver for Mac OSX and some nifty scripting.
