Pupil Attitudes To School And Self (PASS) Survey

FileMaker Go performs a sync between iPhone or iPad and your computer meaning lesson plans, for example, can be created on your computer then synced with your iPhone/iPad via iTunes and you've got access to your lesson plans on your mobile device.
We're currently working on changes to Lesson Planner's interface to fit with iPhone and iPad display sizes and to allow for device rotation. Once we're done we'll be releasing Lesson Planner, as a starter, for FM Go on iPhone and iPad as part of the usual Lesson Planner software package.

Following the release of the Apple iPad, we've been looking at porting some of our software titles across to this new and groundbreaking device.
Up until now, the small screen size of iPhone was a bit of a limiting factor for things like lesson plans, assessment tracking, report writing, etc. iPad provides a much better device and screen size for users to interact with our software. We're already converting Lesson Planner to run on iPad and iPhone.
We'll be announcing the release of Lesson Planner for iPad shortly and followers of our RSS feed will be the first to hear about it so watch this space! The app will be available via the iTunes App Store.
ConductOnline is already iPhone and iPad ready, so if you haven't done so, try ConductOnline on your iPhone or iPad!

The new version of FileMaker 9 now includes the ability to connect to and manipulate live data stored in MSSQL and MySQL database tables (as well as others). This opens up new possibilities for using FileMaker to access traditional web based data in shopping carts etc and also to use FileMaker as a much improved front end for an older system that is currently limited by the constrains of your web browser.
FileMaker can easily connect to one or more SQL tables and drag in the data as if it were in a FileMaker table, this includes the ability to perform finds, add records, etc using the much more intuitive FileMaker way of doing things. You don't have to worry about writing complex SQL queries to perform tasks :-)
We've been busy working on a solution that accesses our company mailing list database, stored on our Linux server in many MySQL tables, and extracts the data from multiple tables and fields to one FileMaker table that has all the relevant information for each user in one record. We accomplished this in under a day with FileMaker 9, Actual ODBC driver for Mac OSX and some nifty scripting.

3 Square enjoyed a very successful 4 days at BETT demonstrating Lesson Planner Advanced, Conduct Behaviour Management, Supply Cover Manager, Report Writer and Attendance between the 10th and 13th January 2007.
We'll also demonstrated a whole range of FileMaker tips and tricks including working with XML/XSLT, Flash charts in Web Viewer, text messaging with FileMaker and many more...

What are the benefits?
Manipulating Filemaker data using XML has several uses:
• opens up the possibility to communicate between applications that also use XML such as iTunes, Microsoft Office, etc Export a FileMaker record or records and create a formatted Word document, or RSS feed, for example

Conduct Online, a comprehensive student behaviour management system, has been updated. Version 2 includes two major new features, improved functionality and the odd bug fix.
New Features:
1. Student watch options... keep a close eye on one or more students by adding them to your watch list. Every conduct they receive will be emailed to you or sent by text to your mobile. Add as many students as you like and choose email, text message or both! Every teacher has their own watch list making it really easy for heads of year to add just their year group or form tutors just their form. A single conduct can then be simultaneously sent to deputy head, head of year and form tutor, keeping everyone in the loop without a single piece of paper! It's never been easier to keep an eye on student behaviour!
2. Parental login... yes, it's here... ConductOnline now features parental login which shows a parent conduct details for their child. With a slick slide down, slide up interface, it's really easy for parents to look at their stored contact details, conduct records, sent letters, behaviour emails, text messages delivered and their son or daughter's behaviour chart. We're not finished yet though, parental login also allows parents to add comments about any behaviour incident making it really easy for them to communicate with teachers and confirm they know about an incident, have dealt with a problem or have congratulated their child for doing well.
